Selecting projects

The Roseburn to Union Canal project team are working in partnership with Edinburgh Collective with the intended outcome of improving the aesthetic quality of the project route and enhancing the user experience by creating a varied and high quality art trail. Edinburgh Collective successfully applied for funding from Sustrans Scotland for artistic interventions along the route and this funding has been matched by City of Edinburgh Council's Capital budget. A contribution has also been made by the Principal Contractor for the project, Balfour Beatty, as part of their community benefitrs programme. Edinburgh Collective have worked closely with several artists to produce design proposals for art that could be used along the project route. 

We would like to get your views on 6 of these designs. You can 'support' two of the designs by clicking the support button of the design you prefer - one for each of the propsed areas that will benefit from an artistic intervention in the form of a mural - . Clicking on the design gives you the opportunity to provide comments.

The consultation will run until 22 October 2025 and we will announce the winning design(s) in November. The chosen design(s) will then be painted at the relevant locations in the Spring or Summer of 2026.
