Summary
Description
Our project aims to entice and engage diverse communities through climate literacy awareness, walking, cycling and food sharing activities. We encourage and support them to take climate action in their daily lives which would reduce their carbon footprint and have positive impact on their wellbeing and the environment.
Location: 30 Westburn Grove, Wester Hailes, EH14 2SA, Edinburgh / Strengthening Communities for Race Equality Scotland - SCOREscotland
Proposed on behalf of: SCOREscotland is a multi-cultural, black and minority ethnic (BME) community-led organisation operating in Wester Hailes, SW Edinburgh. We take action on the causes and effects of racism by promoting race equality and cultural awareness through community learning, engagement activities and social events, thereby fostering stronger, more resilient communities and helping break down barriers impeding full participation in civic life. our current programmes include: Community advocacy and support; Youth and children’s provision, focusing on confidence building; Community mental health and wellbeing; A community fridge to ameliorate food poverty; Walking groups; Cycling activities (e.g., cycle training, organised rides and cycle repair); Home energy advice; Digital inclusion initiatives; Volunteering programme.
